2018 Conference

The Bigger Picture

Returning after a 2 year absence, our conference this year focused on policy discussions surrounding new Chain Of Responsibility (CoR) regulations and what they would mean for our industry. We bought together some of the best legal and freight experts to share that knowledge.

Speaker Summary

This year we focused on extensive policy reform discussions, with Sal Petroccitto opening the day with a talk on the impact of the new Chain of Responsibility laws, with Nathan Cecil from Holding Redlich providing a legal perspective on the changes.

Policy discussions also extended to AI Group’s Brent Ferguson talk on workplace relations and Bernard Carlon’s presentation on the State Government’s new heavy vehicle safety strategy. Bianca Slack-Smith of Transport for NSW also spoke on the planned infrastructure surrounding Port Botany, including the newly announced Sydney Gateway.

There also was a strong focus on finding cost savings for operators Chris Sant from Deloitte and Doug Payne from Make It Cheaper and Sam Shatrov all speaking to various changes operators could make to reduce running costs.
