Glenn Sterle
Trucking runs in Glenn’s veins. Not only was Glenn a long-distance driver, his father was a truck driver and his son followed suit as well. After leaving school at 17 to start in the transport industry, Glenn founded his own business at the age of 20 operating road trains throughout regional Australia. Glenn drove road trains as a furniture removalist between Perth and Darwin for 11 years. He then came off the road to spend more time with his young family and became an organiser with the West Australian branch of the Transport Workers Union in 1991. Aside from working as an organiser, Sterle served on his local branch committee, and was ultimately elected to the union’s federal council in 1998. During his time at the union, Glenn also served on numerous transport related industry and government bodies including WA’s fatigue management working party.
Chris Leat
Chris has been working in the fuels industry since 2017 and has previously held marketing and commercial roles in Australia and overseas. At bp; Chris is a member of the bp Regions, Corporates and Solutions team working on low carbon offer development to bp’s transport and industrial partners. Chris is passionate about decarbonising road transport and working with bp’s customers in Australia to guide them through the Energy Transition.
Chris will discuss how bp’s Integrated Energy Company strategy and capability will deliver low carbon and future fuels offers to Transport & Haulage customers in NSW. Focusing on short to medium term solutions, Chris will talk about Renewable Diesel (HVO) as a key transition fuel towards Net Zero for the Trucking sector and reflect on the status of longer-term solutions like Hydrogen for this sector.
